Am I desperately dependent on Jesus? Or am I stuck in the vicious cycle of trying to be self sufficient?

This past Sunday at church, we talked about how often times we think increasing our knowledge of God leads to our independence increasing, rather than thinking that the more we know about God, the more we know we need to be dependent on him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for reminding me that I need to be solely reliant on you.

I'm truly sorry for the times I've thought I could do everything on my own.

I desire to turn away from that selfish mindset and turn toward you in all that I do.

I pray that as my knowledge of you grows, so would my dependency on you.

Lord I pray for a bold faith that believes you are who you say you are and that you will do what you say you'll do.

Lord please help me to act in faith to glorify your name, not my own, to build your kingdom and let mine fall away.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen:)
